Fotomenti uses only strictly necessary cookies, without which the service would not work. We do not use any advertising or analytics trackers. Below is a list of all the cookies we set.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They make it possible, for example, to keep you signed in or to remember the language you chose.
Your browser’s local storage (localStorage), which we also use for some purposes, works in a similar way.
2. Cookies we use
fm_admin – keeps the organiser signed in to the event administration. Duration: for the sign-in session.
fm_ga – keeps a guest signed in to their guest account. Duration: up to 48 hours.
fm_g_<event> – remembers the guest’s identity and folder for a specific event on that device, so that new uploads go into the same folder. Duration: up to 48 hours. A backup copy may be kept in the browser’s local storage (localStorage).
fm_lang – remembers the language chosen for the website. Duration: 1 year.
3. Third-party cookies and requests
Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the website, may set strictly necessary security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) to distinguish people from automated bots.
Illustrative images on the website are loaded from images.unsplash.com. When they load, your browser sends a request to Unsplash’s servers, which therefore receive your IP address. We do not set any cookies for this purpose.
4. Why we do not ask for consent
All of the cookies listed are strictly necessary to provide the service you requested (signing in, uploading to the right folder, remembering your language, security). Under applicable law, their use does not require consent, which is why we do not show a cookie banner.
If we ever start using cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first.
5. Managing and deleting cookies
You can delete or block cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings.
Please note that deleting cookies may sign you out, and the next time you upload to an event a new guest folder may be created. If you block cookies entirely, some parts of the service may not work.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy, for example if the cookies we use change. The current version is always published at fotomenti.com.
