Everything you need to know before the event.
Do guests need to install anything or sign up?
No. A guest scans the QR code (or opens the link), types their name and uploads right away. Everything works in the phone's browser – no app and no account.
Can guests see each other's photos?
You decide. By default each guest sees only what they uploaded. In the event settings you can enable a gallery of all photos and also downloads – the whole gallery, one folder or selected photos. To view their own photos a guest signs in; the sign-in lasts at most 48 hours.
What if a guest uploads again later?
On the same phone Fotomenti remembers them, so new photos go to their folder. They can fix their name any time without splitting the folder.
Which files and in what quality?
Photos (JPG, PNG and HEIC from iPhone) up to 200 MB and videos (MP4, MOV) up to 1 GB – in original quality, no resizing. Large files upload in parts, and if the signal drops the upload can be retried without duplicates.
How do I download all the photos?
In the event admin the photos are sorted by guest. Download the whole event or one guest's folder as a ZIP, or single photos and videos.
How long are the photos stored?
Depending on the package – from 7 days to 12 months after the event ends. Then the files are deleted automatically. 7 and 2 days before, we email you so you can download them; the admin shows a countdown.
How does pay-as-you-go (credit) work?
You load credit and pay only for guests who uploaded, the number of photos and minutes of video. We warn you at 80 % and 100 %, and there is a 10 % reserve. Top up any time, and guests can chip in too. 1 month of storage is included. After the event we refund the rest or keep it as credit.
What if the package limit runs out?
When the event reaches its limit of guests, photos or video minutes, guests see that no more uploads are possible. If you can't estimate the numbers, choose credit – you can top it up even during the event.
Can more people manage the event?
Yes. Add more users by email. They sign in with a code sent by email or with a password. Everyone sees the photos, QR open statistics and settings.
Where are the photos stored and who can see them?
Files are stored in a data centre in Germany (EU). Photos are visible to the organiser and people they give access to. Guests see only what the organiser allows.
Can I give Fotomenti as a gift?
Yes. Choose a package or credit, write a dedication and the recipient gets a voucher with a code valid for 12 months. They create the event whenever they like.
